The Art of Reading the Room: Meet Rose

There is a lot of talking in a meeting. Introductions, presentations, questions, coffee orders, the occasional "Can everyone see my screen?" And yet, some of the best hospitality happens without saying very much at all. Meet Rose Kavuli Njoki. For four years, she has been part of The Social House Hotel, and she has become particularly good at something hospitality people spend years trying to master: reading the room. A glass running low? She notices. Coffee needs refreshing? Already on it. An organiser looking around for help? Rose is there. Good service notices. Great service responds. Rose does both brilliantly.
She Really Does Read the Room

Then the Music Comes On
Four years into her journey at The Social House, Rose has made her own mark on the House. Not by trying to work like everyone else. By being very good at being Rose.
What Guests Remember
Our meeting spaces, from The Shed and The Garages to The Library and The Snug, host everything from board meetings and workshops to strategy sessions and corporate events in Nairobi. But the room is only part of the experience. What people often remember is more human: someone noticed, someone helped, someone made the day easier. Rose happens to be rather brilliant at that.
And perhaps that is hospitality at its best. The building creates the setting. The people create the feeling. Reassuringly uncommon people. Reassuringly uncommon hospitality.
